The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) prescribed the CS Executive exam pattern 2026 on its official website - icsi.edu. Candidates who are preparing for the CS Executive exam should first refer to the paper pattern before commencing their preparation. The CS Executive June 2026 exam pattern will have papers based on the 2022 syllabus.

The CS Executive 2026 exam pattern includes details such as mode of exam, time duration, modules, papers included, type of questions and marking scheme. The CS Executive exam for the June 2026 session will be conducted from June 1 to June 7, 2026 in offline mode. The first CS Executive exam under the 2022 syllabus was held for the CS Executive Dec 2023 session. However, the old syllabus (2017) has been discontinued.

Overview of CS Executive Exam Pattern
As per the official website of ICSI, the CS Executive 2026 exam will be conducted in offline centres only. There are two modules in the CS Executive exam, each divided into 8 papers as per the new CS Executive syllabus.

Paper Wise Detailed CS Executive Exam Pattern (2022 Syllabus)
As per the CS Executive 2022 syllabus, the exam will have 7 papers. All the papers will have 20% case study based objective questions and 80% descriptive questions. However, paper no. 4 will be completely descriptive. Candidates are required to complete a pre-examination test before appearing for the CS Executive December 2026 exam.

Marking Scheme
For descriptive/subjective questions - There is no negative marking
For objective questions - 0.25 mark to be deducted for each wrong response and 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer
Medium of CS Executive Exam 2026
Candidates can opt to answer the question paper either in English/ Hindi based on their preference. However, English is compulsory for Business Management, Ethics and Communication, Tax laws and practice, Cost, Corporate and Management, and Accounting, Financial and Strategic Management papers
CS Executive Passing Criteria 2026
To qualify the CS Executive exam 2026, candidates should pass both modules/groups with minimum 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all papers. ICSI releases CS Executive passing marks. Candidates who will secure marks as per the official passing criteria will only be treated as “Pass” for the next level - CS Professional exam.
